iCal synchronisation
iCal is a simple calendar connection for exchanging bookings between two systems, for example with a rental platform.
What is iCal?
iCal is a standard format for calendar data. Many rental platforms provide an iCal link that lets you exchange bookings with another system, so blocked dates appear in both calendars.
Advantages
Easy to set up.
Works with many platforms.
Limitations
Synchronisation is often delayed, which can lead to double bookings.
Usually only availability is exchanged, not rates or guest details.
For faster and more complete synchronisation, use a channel manager. EDICE PMS supports both iCal and an integrated channel manager.
